Project Description

Museums are often considered to be valuable places of learning for young people and in addition to common school-visits are often visited by families. Yet little has been studied about the actual behavior of families in museums and how this behavior may affect the use of new museum technologies. This study explored families visiting a Japanese museum with a particular focus on their collaboration using a new museum guide and information system. The research produced the paper, Familial collaborations in a museum (Hope et al, 2009).
