Recently I was a facilitator at the Tokyo Tech "Creative Flow" Science and Culture cafe.
The guest speaker was Frank Schwalba-Hoth, visiting from Brussels, who spoke about European policy, the environment, and the importance of international experience for students. We had a discussion with participants in the audience about relationships between science and art, whether scientists should strive to have "general" views or be focused only on their research topics etc.
It was a great opportunity personally to hear some of the thoughts of young scientists, and encouraging in relation to the possibilities of science cafes held in English in Japan.
